COULEE CITY - A diving team on Monday continued to search for a man who went missing on Banks Lake, north of Coulee City, Sunday night after jumping into the water from a stationary boat.
The search began early after the man’s disappearance, as a personal watercraft of the sheriff’s office was already being launched on the lake when the first 911 call came in through dispatchers around 3 p.m. Sunday.
The sheriff’s office is receiving support from Columbia Basin Dive Rescue, a volunteer-driven non-profit organization that performs water rescues throughout the region, according to a statement from law enforcement.
Law enforcement did not release the name of the missing man, saying only that he is from Western Washington.
